THE 80’S THING (80’S TRIBUTE FROM THE KEYTARS)

APRIL 18, 2017

Last Friday we unveiled our new 80s tribute band at the Venue in Cleveleys, ‘The 80’s Thing’. As this was the first outing for this new act we decided to just do one set of 80’s music and do the first set as a regular Keytars set.

We have been talking about doing this for a few years now but never really got round to it so we were all chuffed when the evening went so well!  This is the first time we have worn costumes in the band, and we had a great laugh on the night seeing what each of us had found from various charity shops around the Fylde Coast. I think the winner had to be Andy – he opted for for black and white leggings, doc martin shoes and a leather waistcoat with nothing underneath! and ‘guyliner’ of course to finish of the 80’s rock god guitarist look! Chris opted for a modest denim crop top over a super mario bros. t-shirt. Paul went all nu-romantic with an oversized grey blazer with the sleeves rolled up, and ‘Born in the 80’s’ t-shirt and shades of course.

The set list included, Van Halen, Ghost Busters, Huey Lewis and the News, Blondie, Spandau Ballet, The Jam, Erasure, Guns and Roses and many more.

We are hoping to bring ‘The 80’s Thing’ to a venue near you very soon and if your interested in booking it for your event please select ‘the 80’s Thing’ in the contact for and send us an enquiry.
